Change of Address
Change of Address
Preparing to relocate took my work than I thought it would.
We ran into some unexpected hiccups along the way but I made it to my
destination safely, which was the most important thing. Surprisingly, moving to
another state was harder than moving to another country. I’ve always been
prepared for a temporary move, but taking the step to move permanently was more
than I was accustomed to. One of the biggest differences was that I had to fill
out a “Change of Address”.
This simple little form made the difference between whether
we would get our mail or not at our new address. By filling out the form, Post
Office is supposed to route all of our mail to our new address. However, I was
informed that all of our mail still may not get to our new address and if it
did it may take several mail cycles before it happened. I would be better off
contacting the companies directly. In other words, it would more beneficial for
me to go to the source to fix my problem rather than trying to take the easy
way. It would take me longer than completing the “Change of Address” but it
would ensure that we got what we needed.
I thought about all of the times that I didn’t go straight
to God because it was too hard or was going to take so long. I tried to take
the easy way out and I didn’t realize that I had let things slip through the
cracks; things I would need later on. I delayed my own freedom because I wanted
a quick fix instead of a true, all-encompassing healing. Going to the source
was going to cost more than I was willing to pay at the time. But what I didn’t
know is that I couldn’t afford to skip the important steps.
The lady at the Post Office told me that she would hate for
us to miss something we had been waiting on because the “Change of Address”
didn’t catch it! What have you missed out on because you didn’t take the time
to go the Source to give Him everything you needed?
Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and
burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
The things that we need are normally in the places we won’t
go. It may take longer to get there but taking those steps is what leads us to
lighten our loads. God didn’t create you to go around Him but He placed a
desire inside of each us to come to Him to get what we need. Don’t always look
for the easy way out because it will cause you to miss out on the necessary
things for your journey. “Easy” can you leave you unequipped to get where you need
to be.
As hard as it may be to go the source of each one of your
problems, the return you receive is priceless! God isn’t telling you to come to
Him to make your assignment harder, He’s calling you so He can exchange what
you’re carrying for His plans for you. The solution you were looking for can
only be found in Him.
