Love Yourself Challenge

In February, we celebrate Valentine’s Day and lots of people consider the whole month to be the month of love. Learning how to love what God created starts with learning to love what you see in the mirror. The media forces images down our throat of what we need to look like to be accepted. But, in Mark 12:30-31 we see “30 And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’31 The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.”

What you see in the mirror is worth loving but until you realize that God didn’t make a mistake when He molded you, you won’t be able to serve Him. You can’t serve God with your whole heart if you don’t choose to love all that He gave you. Whether you have a Valentine or not, you are worthy to be loved. So for each day of February I want to challenge you to love yourself.

If you have social media (IG, FB, Twitter, Tumblr, Blogger), post a photo of yourself with #WivesinWaiting #LoveYourselfChallenge #PhotoADay #February as your hashtags so we can encourage one another in love. Along with your pictures, include an “I AM” statement. These are statements that affirm what God says about you in His word. Your “I AM” statements can be scripture or positive affirmations that agree with God.

I am so excited to embark on this journey of choosing to love who God has made us to be. It’s easy to get caught up in the commercialism of Valentine’s Day that we lose sight of what real love looks like. This challenge is a reminder of what love is all about.

We started February 1, will you join us?

With All My Love,
Mrs. Truscott
