Are You Ready for the One?

It has been said time and time again that “you have to be a wife before you are a wife”.  To the naked eye this statement could mean one has to be married to a man more than once. The truth of the matter is that before we can begin the task of being a wife to our “earthly” husband we have to develop our true love relationship with our first husband, the Lord. “For thy Maker is thine husband; the Lord of hosts is his name; and thy redeemer the Holy One of Israel; the God of the whole earth shall he be called” (Isaiah 54:5).

The Lord needs to present you to your husband once you are properly prepared. You need a deep relationship with God so He can prepare you to be returned to your husband. Yes, RETURN you to your husband. What we see on Earth is an illustration of what has already happened in the spiritual realm. Marriages are made in Heaven by God. This means that your future husband is already in God’s plan for your life and it is your responsibility to be prepared for him when Christ leads him to you.

How do you get prepared for your husband? Christ must be the focal point of your life by sincerely accepting Him as your Lord and Savior. Christ’s love for the church is the blueprint of marriage between man and wife. The love of the Lord is one that loves without receiving any love back. God’s Word must first be applied to your life when you are single to lay the foundation before you are married. We must learn to submit to the Word of God before we can submit to our husbands. If it is difficult to trust and lean on the Word of the One that loves you unconditionally, it will be nearly impossible to do the same with another human being that has their own faults. Trusting God as your true provider while single is a value to carry into married life. This prevents unrealistic expectations from being placed on your second husband. Marriage should be based on a decision by the Holy Spirit, not based on feelings. We all know that feelings can fade and a life partnership should be founded on something permanent, not temporary.

With all of that being said, as a woman you should not be “looking” for a husband! He will find you. Proverbs 18:22 says:“Whosoever findeth a wife findeth a good thing and obtaineth favor of the Lord”. God has given each man the challenge of seeking out his own wife. This is an explicit statement because the Lord clearly states that a wife will be found, not a husband. Adam looked to God and God brought his wife. The good news is that you don’t have to worry about the ratio of men to women; your only concern is 1 good man that God specifically designed for you. God will present you to him at the right time. Will you be ready?

With All My Love,
Mrs. Truscott
