The List!

What’s on your list of desirable qualities for a husband? Most women have spent a countless amount of time on their list. My list was nothing to write home about; it included things that would have no impact on the eternal. It is human nature to desire an attractive mate, but marriage cannot be based on human nature. If a man’s heart is not right his physical appearance does not matter. If the external qualities are what make a good spouse, Jesus would not qualify. Isaiah 53:2 teaches us “He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him”. If some of us were living in biblical times, we would not have been physically attracted to Jesus! Wow. Thank God that big blessings can be wrapped in unassuming packages.

This does not mean that your soul mate will not be an attractive man because my husband is the sexiest man I have ever met. The truth of the matter is that my husband had everything that was on my list of what I didn’t want. God doesn’t give us what we want, but what He knows we need. What we need to realize is that God has equipped your earthly husband with a list of his own. Do you have the qualities that are on his list? As a man that is after God’s own heart e will desire a wife that possesses the same spirit. If you have not spent time to prepare for your husband, he will not be attracted to your spirit. Furthermore, if you have not been changed by God from the inside you will not recognize your future husband.

In order to attract your true soul mate, you must look at the big picture. The preparation is not to “catch” your husband; it is to prepare yourself as a living sacrifice to the true lover of your soul. God will make changes in you that will allow you to be attracted to the right kind of man that He has in mind for you. The Holy Spirit will teach you how to break the spell of your past through seeking his face, forgiving yourself and those that have wronged you, reconciliation, and unconditional love. God has an earthly king in mind for you but unless you allow Him to prepare you to be the RIGHT kind of queen, you will miss out on the plan and purpose God has for your future. I encourage you to let the Holy Spirit groom you into the woman God wants you to be.
