Overdrawn
Have you ever owed someone some money and you didn’t have it
to pay back? Or has your account ever been overdrawn because you spent more
than you had? Maybe you bit off more than you could chew and didn’t realize
that you couldn’t afford the new debts you have just acquired. Whatever the
case may be, you have been in over your head at one point or another in your
life.
We all can relate because many times our mouths write a
check that our actions cannot cash. There are times when we find ourselves in
situations that there is no way that we can get ourselves out of. Some of us
may suffer in silence as our world falls apart and others may reach out to
everyone they know to see if they can help. But there are those times when NO
ONE can help, when you get in so deep that you can’t even believe you have gone
so far.
Because of our “human nature” some of us may have found
ourselves in this predicament more times than we would like to admit.
We can even relate with situations that have nothing to do
with money. We may have used deception to get into something but now there is
no way out. There is nothing that we can do except face the music.
Parents frequently try to intervene when it’s their child
that has found themselves in a bind. The parent will do everything in their
power to alleviate their child from having to endure the pain and suffering
that may be the result of their bad decisions. But there are times that even
the love of a parent is not enough.
I’m not talking about the times when you were innocent and
just got caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. No, I mean when you are
guilty of putting yourself in a situation you never should have been in.
Jesus came to pay that debt that you had no way to pay.
Long before you were born, His love conquered what should
take you down. All of our accounts are overdrawn. We are in over our heads when
we try to live life on our terms. We find ourselves spiraling out of control as
we attempt to take control.
But look what love did!
Love came in the form of a man to walk the earth and let
Himself be murdered to cover our overdrawn accounts. Romans 3:24 Yet God, with
undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ
Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Even before we ever made a mistake or were even born, the
love of God paid the price for our actions. The love that He gives is
unconditional because He did it without us loving Him back.
With All My Love,
Mrs. Truscott
