The Big "O"
We don’t all get the luxury of experiencing The Big “O”. We
can be too uptight to truly experience the ecstasy that it brings. It’s one of
those things that are better than anything else that you have ever done in your
life. It adds to your outlook on IT and everything else.
“Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as
much as in obeying the Lord. To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is
better than the fat of rams” (1 Samuel 15:22 NIV). Obedience is better than
sacrifice. Doing what God told you to do or not to do is what holds weight to
our Heavenly Father. Sacrificing things/people for God is part of being
obedient.
His word is sovereign. What He says goes and God means
business. The Bible is full of God’s judgment coming against His chosen people
for being disobedient. God’s judgment does not reflect His contempt for us but
His love for us. What He wants to spare us from. Matthew 7:11 “If you then,
being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will
your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!” Our
obedience to God is the least we can do.
He doesn’t give us commands that would harm us or rob us of
living life to the fullest.
When God tells you to do something, your obedience shows Him
that you can be trusted. He can trust you with you a bigger assignment if He
knows you will be obedient. Obedience is when you choose God over everything
else. You choose His will even when it seems that your way is better. It is
acknowledging who you serve.
Obedience is one of those things that look like weakness to
the untrained eye. But it takes maturity and faith to realize that obedience is
a trait that only a strong person carries. It takes wisdom to obey God even
when you can’t see Him. When you know that God knows better no matter what, you
realize His way has been better all along. Obedience is placing God in His
proper place and you in yours. It is showing God you understand your role as
the creation and His role as the Creator.
God doesn’t want you to give up premarital sex just to give
it up, He asks for it to test your obedience. His will wants you to experience
the other big O with the person He designed specifically for you. Obedience to
Him spares you the heartache and soul ties to one that you would have chosen
based on emotion or feelings. Being obedient protects your heart and your soul!
With All My Love,
Mrs. Truscott
